
The new models have been floating online for weeks, but on Tuesday the Los Angeles Lakers officially unveiled the updated jerseys players will wear throughout the 2018-19 season.

The biggest change is the numbering, with a so-called drop shadow describing each number, a preview of 1980s jerseys.
“Unveiled for the 2018-19 season, the new Los Angeles Lakers uniforms bring back an element of the Showtime era of the 1980s while positioning a new direction for the franchise,” the team said, according to its website.
The 2000s jerseys had more of a V-neck design while the newer versions had a round neck.
The team unveiled three models of jerseys: the famous gold jersey to wear at home, a purple “Statement” edition with black piping on the sides for road games and a white version to wear at home games of the. Sunday.
