After landing the biggest free agent of the summer at LeBron James, the Lakers released a new shirt design with his name and number on the back.
The Lakers have one of the most iconic jerseys in the league, and it looks like they’ve stuck with last season’s base model with a few minor changes.

The first shirt looks a lot like the design the organization has been using for some time now, with the classic white numbering and purple outline.
The second shirt is more of a throwback to the days when Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. It has blocked numbers with a solid purple interior and a white outline.
This version foreshadows the release of new jersey designs, which should be officially announced in the coming days.

These swimsuits appear to be inspired by older models, similar to the second swimsuit from the previous tweet.
Although we have visuals of the jerseys in purple and yellow colors, we have to wait for future designs. It is visibly missing a white jersey the Lakers wore in Sunday home games before the league changed the rule that home teams must wear a lighter color than away teams.
A darker jersey is also to be expected, as the Lakers have released some form of black jersey in recent seasons. Last year, as the “NBA City Edition” jersey, the Lakers released a jet black mamba snakeskin jersey in honor of Kobe Bryant.
Keep your eyes peeled for more NBA jerseys updates as the regular season approaches.
