Besides scrolling through cringe-worthy “Karen” videos, Adam Driver thirst traps, and hilarious animal and baby videos, I’ve found that TikTok is one of the best ways to get the scoop on the best restaurants just about anywhere.
And with things finally getting (somewhat) back to normal, we’re going to be doing a lot more brunch dates! Because what could be better than getting drunk all day on bottomless mimosas and eating 3 times the amount of our recommended daily caloric intake? So according to TikTok, where are the best brunches in New Jersey?
I did some research, and there was a parcel of results. Turns out people like to eat. But after a bunch of searching/scrolling/distracting by Shein haul videos, I narrowed it down to this list of 10 based on the number of likes and the amount of approval in the comment sections.
Let’s have brunch!
1.Brownstone Pancake Factory – Cliffs of Englewood NJ: This place here came up the most in my TikTok search. And after watching video after video of milkshakes piled high with donuts and cookies and platters of incredibly decadent pancakes, it’s easy to see why. I mean look at those plates! This is Instagram food p*rn. They’ve even been featured on The Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
2. The High Lawn – West Orange NJ: If you want to get a little fancier and don’t mind going a bit deeper in your wallet, check this place out. Very chic with stunning views of NYC.
3. At Mom’s – Middletown NJ: Self-proclaimed as “the university of French toast,” this spot serves 20 different variations of the favorite brunch dish, including flavors like Cinnamon Toast Crunch / French Vanilla Mascarpone and Cookie Dough Stuffed French Toast / brownies (What!!!)
4. Luna Restaurant – Jersey City NJ: This one also came up more than once in my search. Rustic but chic, this place is ideal for a chic brunch or a sophisticated evening. When it’s warmer, you should definitely dine outside on their beautiful outdoor terrace.
5. Willow and Whip – Wyckoff NJ: TikTokers love this place for a good reason! It’s a nice upscale and casual dining experience with delicious brunches. People in the reviews couldn’t stop raving about their pancakes and eggs benedict!
6. Sabrina’s Cafe – Collingswood NJ: I went for brunch here with my sister and my mother-in-law a few years ago, so I was happy to see this come up more than once on TikTok. Can confirm – this place slaps. Try the home fried potatoes and shrimp-n-grits. Believe me. They also have locations in Philadelphia!
7. Cafe 72 – Ewing NJ: If you’re in the Princeton area, you’ve probably heard of this place. This is a nice neighborhood nook restaurant that serves all sorts of variations of pancakes, eggs Benedict, French toast, omelettes, and more. And check out this French onion soup! Regards ah– maze.
8. The Frog and the Peach – New Brunswick NJ: A bit more expensive and upscale, but the food looks to die for. With dishes like Crab Tostada, Bacon Beignets and Brioche French Toast w/cannoli topping and fresh berries, it’s worth it.
9. Little Tijuana- Newark NJ: FIESTA someone? This modern Mexican restaurant and margarita bar is a must if you want more of a party vibe! Not only does the food look super delicious, it is GORGEOUS inside and on the roof terrace. It’s an Instagrammer’s dream.
