By Katryna Perera (June 15, 2022, 8:00 p.m. EDT) — Global consumer goods company Unilever was hit by a proposed securities class action lawsuit in federal court in New York on Wednesday over allegations that the company and its top executives allegedly lied to investors to cover up a decision by Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream subsidiary to boycott the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territory.
The City of St. Clair Shores Police and Fire Retirement System, an investor in Unilever, filed the lawsuit on behalf of anyone who purchased or acquired U.S. Certificates of Deposit from Unilever between September 2, 2020 and July 21, 2021.
